Currently Head of Department of Corporate Planning & Control in the Autoridad Portuaria de Valencia. Accumulating twenty years of experience in the field of ports and maritime transport, Mr. Díez has participated in several projects related to innovation and port management, including port efficiency, new technologies implementation, environmental protection, safety and security, risk assessment and maritime transport promotion. In the Autoridad Portuaria de Valencia I previously held the positions of Transformation Manager and of Environmental Manager.
Previous experiences include being Technical Director of FEPORTS (Port Institute of the Valencian Region, 2005 – 2007) and Managing Director of IPEC (Port Institute of Studies and Cooperation, 2002-05). Concerning training, Mr. Díez has been Lecturer in different Master Programs in Port and Intermodal Transport; he is instructor of the UNCTAD Trainmar Europe Program since 1998 and of the UNCTAD Port Certificate Program in the English, Spanish and French Networks and Expert of the European Union TAIEX Program for Port and Maritime Transport related issues.
Member of the Governance Committee of the European Sea Ports Organisation (ESPO) since 2018 and of the International Relationship Committee of the MedPorts Association.
Mr. Díez has a long record of participation as speaker in several national and international Congresses, Seminars and Workshops in Europe and Worldwide on port related issues and is the author of different monographies and articles concerning port management.
